During the meeting, which was held in the Government House by President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the board discussed five new projects of Russian and foreign investors.
To the Supervisory Board, which includes Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Linar Yakupov, were presented current projects of SEZ "Alabuga". In particular, the company "Interskol" and “Alabuga Motors” plan to expand its operations and increase activity in the special economic zone. "Interskol" plans to work in technical activities and declares the establishment of the engineering and testing center "Engineering Center Interskol" branch. It was noted that the project will carry out large-scale development projects and launch mass production of 15 new products per year. The opening of the center is planned in one of the modules of the "Synergy" industrial park.
The "Alabuga-Motors" company organizes production on equipping the basic chassis of "Ford” cars and a number of other brands in the specialized transport, in particular, taxis, ambulances, school buses of different sizes, electric cars and cars with gas engines. The Finnish company "Huhtamaki" announced its intention to build on the SEZ "Alabuga" territory modern plant for the production of disposable tableware and packaging, made of paper and plastic - "Huhtamaki Alabuga". It is expected that the new plant will be a major supplier of disposable cups and lids for the restaurant chain McDonald `s in the Volga region, Western Siberia, Kazakhstan and the Urals.
Another project – KamGeoTeks" company is going to begin modern production of high-strength woven polyester geogrids on the basis of technical yarns, which will be used in a modern hydraulic engineering, road and railway construction. The Russian company "Highway technologies" plans to create on the zone’s territory an innovative production of plastic pipes for highway engineering network. Both "KamGeoTeks" and "Highway technologies" companies plan to implement their projects in a newly built "Synergy" industrial park. Construction of the park began in February 2013 and will be completed in the first quarter of 2014. Companies are already began the procedure of obtaining the status of resident in aim to start their work from the moment of launching the "Synergy".
Today at the meeting was reached an agreement on the establishment of a resource center, which will take over the functions of centralized personnel matters of SEZ "Alabuga” enterprises.
