Tatarstan and Mexico to expanse areas of cooperation

Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the United Mexican States in the Russian Federation Ruben Beltran is in a one-day working visit to the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The delegation, led by Ruben Beltran, also included a group of Mexican investors.

Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Linar Yakupov met with Ruben Beltran as part of its working visit to Moscow at the end of July current year. The parties discussed the opportunities of cooperation. One of the topics for discussion was the organization of Mr. Beltran and Mexican companies visit to Kazan.

In the first half of the day, Mr. Beltran met with TIDA Chief Executive First Deputy Robert Galiullin, TIDA Head of investment promotion Wyatt Ford and TIDA Head of support and monitoring of investment projects department Arthur Nigmatulin. During the meeting, to the Ambassador of the United Mexican States in the Russian Federation presented the economic and investment potential of the Republic of Tatarstan and Kazan Smart City project.

Then, accompanied by Robert Galiullin, Ambassador visited IT-park, where he met with Anton Grachev. In IT-park Ambassador acquainted with "Innopolis" and business incubator projects. Ruben Beltran also left his inscription on the wall of the Business Incubator.
Also in this day the ambassador met with the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. In attendance at the meeting were the
Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Linar Yakupov and the Chairman of the Tatarstan Chamber of Commerce Shamil Agueyev.

Rustam Minnikhanov at his residence in the Kazan Kremlin noted that Tatarstan and Mexico have the experience of cooperation and we are in good relations with the business of the United Mexican States. The president also said that in the last year the trade turnover between Tatarstan and Mexico totaled about $ 60 million. Most of the turnover was for the supply of helicopters and petrochemical products.
"There are also examples of collaboration in research areas", - added Rustam Minnikhanov. - "In particular, Kazan Federal University collaborates with two universities in your country. Now we need to work more active in economic sector".

Among the perspective areas for cooperation were named mechanical engineering, chemical and petrochemical industries. President noted Mexico's experience in agriculture, underscoring interest in developing cooperation in this area. Also were identified tourism, exchange of experience in the sports field, exchange of students, who will be "agents of Russian interests in Mexico and Mexico's interests in Russia".

Ruben Beltran then, shared with his impressions of visiting Kazan, noting that in this city he is for the first time. The ambassador also said that he actively cooperates with Tatarstan Investment Development Agency. Ruben Beltran invited the head of the republic to visit Mexico and told that President of Mexico Enrique Peña Nieto is going to visit Russia in September to participate in the "Big Twenty" summit.

"I know that Russia joined the World Trade Organization (WTO), and hope that your country will be an active participant," - he added. - "We are willing support you in this matter".
Ruben Beltran has confirmed the interest of Mexican companies to enter the Russian market, noting as interesting directions for cooperation the engineering pharmaceuticals, health care, agriculture and agro-processing.
