BASF opens in Kazan a construction chemicals plant

The official launch of the BASF first production line took place in "Himgrad" technopolis with the presence of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.

The new BASF plant will produce about 20 kinds of additives in the last generation concrete. On the plant is also opened laboratory of quality control and production efficiency. In the process of recipes selection is taken into account the specificity of local production of binders and fillers.

At the first production line launching ceremony, BASF also presented innovative solutions for the industry of Tatarstan in the fields of construction, agriculture, automotive, housing, food production and water treatment. The use of their technology BASF demonstrated in a real-time.

"BASF Building Systems" CEO Sergey Vetlov underscored that start of production coincided with an important event for BASF construction chemicals division: 10 years from the moment the company is working on the Russian market. According to Sergey Vetlov, Tatarstan is a growing region and the localization of production in the republic will give an opportunity to offer European level products that have already adapted to the local requirements and characteristics of raw materials. Besides, the opening of production in the republic will allow the company to optimize logistics and reduce delivery time.

Concluding his speech, "BASF Building Systems" CEO presented a certificate to equip chemistry class of Kazan9 secondary school, stressing that one of the BASF important social activities is to support educational projects.
