Kazan Smart City wins FIABCI-Russia Prix d’Excellence for best master plan

The award ceremony for the Russian level of the FIABCI Prix d’Excellence was held today as part of PROEstate: International Investment Forum on Real Estate 2013 in Moscow.

FIABCI-Russia is the Russia-wide stage of FIABCI Prix d’Excellence, one of the world’s most prestigious competitions in the field of real estate which is supported by The Wall Street Journal.

President of Promsyaznedvizhimost Group Maxim Gasiev presented the award for best master plan to Kazan Smart City, noting that the project is unique, multi-function and quite an ambitious announcement from the Republic of Tatarstan.

Kazan Smart City’s path towards victory took the project through two qualification rounds and a hearing before a panel of experts in the fields of development, real estate management, who evaluated the project based on a range of criteria – general description, architectural plans of the project, development and construction, the impact of the project on its surroundings, as well as its public and social significance.

At the award ceremony, Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Linar Yakupov underscored the fact that this victory for Kazan Smart City was testament to the extensive work that has been done by the Republic of Tatarstan in studying and incorporating the best practices in smart city building and urbanistics. Linar Yakuopv similarly noted that the success that the firm support of the President of Tatarstan has played a crucial role in the success that Kazan Smart City has enjoyed, and will continue to be paramount in its future development.

Other nominations in the master plan category of the FIABCI-Russia Prix d’Excellence were VTB Arena Park, reconstruction and modernization of Dinamo stadium in Moscow, and Paradny Pushkin – a conceptual development project for 138.5 hectares of land.

Having won the Russian level of FIABCI Prix d’Excellence, Kazan Smart City can now participate in the global FIABCI Prix d’Excellence round of competition.

FIABCI is an international real estate federation linking hundreds of real estate associations across more than 60 countries globally. The goal of the federation is to help members acquire knowledge, develop networks, and optimize business opportunities. The FIABCI Prix d’Excellence is internationally recognized as a leading accolade for real estate development projects.
