Tatarstan and Mexico negotiates on cooperation in the field of automotive components

KAMAZ and Mexican Metalsa discuss a joint project on investment in production in Naberezhnye Chelny.
Negotiations between the Russian automaker and the Mexican company, operating in the production of automotive components, were held in the framework of the working visit of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Linar Yakupov and Deputy General Director of JSC "KAMAZ" Irek Gumerov to the city of Monterrey in the Mexican state of Nuevo Leon, where is located Metalsa headquarter.
"We negotiates with five or six companies in Mexico, but so far we can not call them, so I hope that the project between Kamaz and Metalsa is not the only one, but will be the first one among others," - noted in an interview Linar Yakupov after a meeting with business circles of Tatarstan and the State of Nuevo Leon. Linar Yakupov also underscored that other Mexican companies are also interested to go into this segment of Tatarstan.
«Metalsa seen in Tatarstan as a global company for cooperation in different markets, and investment project for the production of automotive components start from $ 20 million and more, - said Linar Yakupov. - Few people know that Mexico is, in fact, a leader in the world in the production of automotive components.”
He also underscored that Russia should actively work with all countries, regardless of the distance.
Deputy General Director of JSC "KAMAZ" Irek Gumerov on the interview said that KAMAZ and Mexican Metalsa discuss a joint project on investment in production in Naberezhnye Chelny. “If we discuss the options, and if that would be mutually beneficial, then the project may be interesting for both parties”, - he said.
Mexican investment in the Republic of Tatarstan in 2012 was more than $ 1 million.
