Rustam Minnikhanov: “Kazan Smart City will become a part of the "Great Kazan"

Today, during the 43rd session of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan President announced his annual message.

Welcoming the members and participants of the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov noted that 2013 will be remembered at the history of Tatarstan and the country as the year of the XXVII World Summer Universiade - worldwide large sport and cultural event.

"Thanks to the Universiade republic received a developed sports infrastructure, the new stadium of international level, new airport, high-speed aeroexpress, the new train station, metro station and modern transport interchanges, - noted the President of Tatarstan. On the basis of the Universiade Village created the best student campus in the country".

The President also underscored that the capital of the republic changed its face and, "the words that Kazan - a modern European metropolis - is not an ambitious goal, but in many ways it is the today’s reality."
... "This year, we opened a representative office in Dubai, and then will be China”, - said the head of the republic.

President also noted the need to further strengthening of economic and trade cooperation with Russian regions and the traditional foreign partners.

Speaking about new projects, the President of Tatarstan noted Kazan Smart City and Innopolis that will become parts of "Great Kazan". The President underscored that the SEZ "Innopolis" will contribute to the development of IT-cluster in the republic, attracting high-tech industries, as well as the implementation of the Kazan Smart City project. Minnikhanov said that the republic should be ready for a huge flow of labor, which will provide this project.

Working with representatives of the Republic of Tatarstan in the Russian regions this year Tatarstan Investment Development Agency more closely cooperates with the offices of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Russian trade missions and embassies in different countries, foreign business associations. In particular, in June 2013 TIDA has opened a series of investment seminars in priority areas of the republic: the chemical and petrochemical industry, mechanical engineering and automotive components manufacturing, construction, building materials and furniture, processing of agricultural products, IT- technology and telecommunications, medicine and pharmaceuticals, halal industry, services and tourism.

For each of the areas TIDA in cooperation with the plenipotentiary representative of Tatarstan in Moscow hosts regular meetings with investors. So, yesterday in Moscow ended seminar on medicine and pharmaceuticals. In the future, the organization of such investment seminars will take place at the offices of Tatarstan in other cities of Russia.

In a message to the President of the Republic of Tatarstan was noted that "a key area of ​​the state long-term economic policy - the creation of the necessary infrastructure".

Talking about public authorities, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan noted that "improving the quality of governance should be the priority of the state and municipal authorities". Rustam Minnikhanov also underscored the need for a book of standards including the description of best practices and technologies for effective governance.

At the end of his speech the head of republic underscored that "Tatarstan – is a territory with a large ambitions and far-reaching plans" and the task is "to keep the existing achievements, continue sustainable development in the future."
