In October, the first meeting of the Architecture Council of Kazan Smart City was held in the office of Tatarstan Development Corporation (TDC) - the operator of the new investment platform of Tatarstan.
The meeting was attended by Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Linar Yakupov, Tatarstan Development Corporation CEO Bulat Gayanov, Chief Architect of Kazan City Tatiana Prokofieva, Chief Architect of Kazan Smart City Norliza Hashim, and Architect of Tatarstan Development Corporation Elmira Nizamieva.
The Architecture Council of Kazan Smart City promotes the using of "green" building technologies, which meets with the modern Russian and international standards and requirements. The council also oversees the design process of architectural objects in Kazan Smart City and their compliance to the general concept of the future city.
At the first meeting the Architecture Council reviewed the first objects of the future technopolis. These projects include an intermodal transportation hub integrated with the social and business center where will be located a cinema, shops, cafes, and offices; a transit hotel and office center project. The Italian architectural firm “DBA Projetti” now is working on the architectural design of these facilities.
Experts also discussed the engineering center of TGT Oil and Gas Services, the international oil services company, which will be located in Kazan Smart City. The investment agreement on establishing the engineering center was signed on October 3 between Tatarstan Investment Development Agency and TGT Oil and Gas Services. The signing took place during the V International Economic Summit of Russia and OIC countries (KazanSummit 2013).
It is necessary to mention that Kazan Smart City acquired the status of the International Investment Technopolis according to the decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan, signed at the end of September 2013.
