The BRICS Summit Prelude – Dixieland Festival

The International Festival "Dixieland Congress of BRICS+ Countries in Russia" will be held in Kazan from August 28 to 30. Guests and residents of the city will see a procession of jazz orchestras from 12 countries and 7 regions of Russia. Musicians from India, Brazil, China, Iran, Turkey, Cuba, Egypt, Colombia, Ecuador, and Nigeria will perform at various venues in Kazan.
Jazz, which unites countries and continents, will be the first breath of the upcoming BRICS summit.

At a press conference dedicated to the festival program, Taliya Minullina noted the important role of event tourism in attracting investment. Such events are an important image component in promoting Tatarstan.

The legendary jazz musician, People's Artist of Russia Alexey Kozlov became the President of the Festival, and the outstanding musician and head of the "Big Jazz Orchestra" Pyotr Vostokov became the art director.

The event will end with a grand Gala Concert, the culmination of which will be the performance of the BRICS Joint International Orchestra, which will perform the Tatar folk song “Ai Bylbylym” in a jazz arrangement.
