In July, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the opening of a new consulate in Russia - in Kazan. The developing economic relations between the country and the Republic have played an important role in this.
Earlier, Deputy head of the TIDA Marina Epifantseva spoke to the trade mission of the Russian Federation in India. She noted that strong ties have been built between the Republic of Tatarstan, in particular TIDA, and India. For example, last December, Marina Epifantseva represented the Agency, which is the only member of the association from Russia, at the 27th WAIPA World Investment Conference in New Delhi, India. And in May of this year, within the framework of the AIM forum, I met with the investment agency of India InvestIndia. During that meeting, agreements were reached on further deepening cooperation, including in the BRICS format.
Also, during the meeting, Agency staff shared with partners the results of the last International Economic Forum "Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum", which this year was held for the first time in federal status.
The head of the TIDA Taliya Minullina on relations with India and the words of the Prime Minister of the country: A very important tool for investment development is working with the diplomatic corps. The presence of consulates of such states as Turkey, China, and Iran in Kazan, as well as a stable influx of investments from these countries, shows a direct relationship between the activation of diplomatic ties and increasing the effectiveness of economic cooperation. We hope that the opening of the Indian consulate will take place as soon as possible and will help to unlock the full potential of economic relations between India and Tatarstan, since we still have plenty of room for growth, given the current modest indicators of mutual trade and investment.
