The topic of investments was actively discussed at the final meeting of the board of the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan for Tourism, in which the head of the TIDA, Taliya Minullina, took part.
Sergey Ivanov, Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan for Tourism: “Over the four years of implementing the national project “Tourism and Hospitality Industry,” the republic has received 1.5 billion rubles of federal money (excluding support provided to investors under the preferential lending program)”
In particular, over these four years, thanks to the national project, 358 rooms have appeared in country recreation facilities in Tatarstan, more than 80 projects in the tourism sector have been implemented, and a number of educational programs have been conducted.
“Two major investment projects of the Republic of Tatarstan have been supported — the construction of the KRAVT HOTEL INNOPOLIS hotel complex with 44 rooms and the construction of an entertainment aquathermal complex in Kazan,” Ivanov added.
The main challenge for the tourism industry of Tatarstan has become infrastructure development. This was announced at the final board meeting of the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan for Tourism by Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia Dmitry Vakhrukov.
"The main challenge facing the tourism industry of Tatarstan is infrastructure development. We see that the occupancy rate of hotels in the republic is 25% higher than the national average. This suggests that we need to continue [building] new hotels that provide infrastructure," he noted.
Vakhrukov recalled that hotels are being actively built in Tatarstan under preferential lending programs under 141 government decrees and subsidies for modular hotels. The region is implementing a large project "Kazan Marina" with the participation of the corporation "Tourism.RF".
"The republic is an active participant in the national project. Almost all support measures provided for by the national project are being used well and without failures. Not all regions have coped with such new support measures, but here the Republic of Tatarstan is rather a pleasant exception to the rule," he added.
The importance of building hotels in Tatarstan was also noted by the head of the Investment Development Agency of the Republic of Tatarstan Taliya Minullina at the Agency's board meeting.
Taliya Minullina: "A good example of an investment project could be a new five-star hotel in Kazan with an investment volume of 7 billion 100 million rubles, the start of construction of which is planned for the current year. As part of international events, we see that we have very few five-star hotels. What is this due to? With payback! Since, for example, the payback of a three-star or four-star hotel cannot be compared with a five-star one. In the latter case, the payback is much longer."
Also, at the final board meeting of the State Committee for Tourism Development, it became known about plans to open five three-star hotels of the ZA Hotel road hotel chain, each of which is designed for 49 rooms. This was reported by Konstantin Guselnikov, General Director of TriA Development LLC.
"We are now in high hopes in negotiations with Nizhnekamsk, Almetyevsk, Yelabuga and are looking at one facility in the Innopolis area," he said.
Two hotels of the chain are already operating in Tatarstan - “FOR Kazan M7” and “FOR Kazan-Airport”, which was opened for the BRICS summit.
