Kazan is the cultural capital of the Islamic world in 2026

These days, Maria Krivenkova, Head of the Legal and Documentation Department of the Investment Development Agency of the Republic of Tatarstan, is working at the Global Halal Summit (GHaS) 2025 international forum, organized by the Malaysian Department of Islamic Development (JAKIM).

The purpose of the participation is to develop economic relations between Tatarstan and Malaysia, to study the experience of this member country of the Organization of the Islamic Commonwealth in the field of Halal industry and Islamic finance.

Within the framework of the forum, Maria Krivenkova spoke at the panel discussion "Ecosystem, development strategy and recent changes in the Halal industry". In her speech, she touched upon the topic of acceptable tools and existing restrictions on the promotion (advertising) of Halal products in the world, taking into account international events and exhibitions held in the Republic of Tatarstan, including the international economic forum "Russia — the Islamic World: KazanForum".

Privately, Maria Krivenkova discussed the specifics of organizing Islamic tourism with the speaker of the panel discussion, Madame Nur Alyssa Carolina Yussin.

Maria Krivenkova, Head of the Legal and Documentation Department of the Investment Development Agency of the Republic of Tatarstan, and Milena Petrova, Project Manager of the Directorate of International Programs, responsible for the Malaysian delegation to KazanForum, continue to work at the Global Halal Summit (GHaS) 2025 international forum, organized by the Malaysian Department of Islamic Development (JAKIM).

1. Milena Petrova presented a personal invitation to Dato Sirajuddin bin Suhaimi, Director General of the Malaysian Islamic Development Department (JAKIM). Earlier, the department's delegation visited Tatarstan last year.

2. A meeting was held with Andrey Kuznetsov, Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in Malaysia. We discussed issues of further cooperation on attracting investments to the Republic of Tatarstan, taking into account the specifics of the Malaysian market.

3. A meeting was held with the CEO of the Halal Industry Development Corporation in Malaysia and the OIC countries, Hairol Ariffein Sahari, an organization controlled by the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) of Malaysia.

HDC has been the organizer of the WORLD HALAL CONFERENCE for 18 years in a row, and is the main coordinator for the development and promotion of the Halal industry and Islamic finance in Malaysia.

At the meeting, they discussed options for cooperation with the AIR of the Republic of Tatarstan on the issues of educational events within the Halal industry. Previously, the General Director of the organization confirmed his personal participation in kazanforum2026.

4. Maria Krivenkova and Milena Petrova held talks with representatives of the international division of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security of Malaysia, representatives of CZR Consulting Sdn Bhd, Precena Strategic Partners Sdn Bhd and MyVenture Capital, during which they discussed the possibilities of implementing investment projects of entrepreneurs from the Republic of Tatarstan in Malaysia, as well as the possibility of participation of representatives of the Malaysian business community.communities in "KazanForum-2026".

At the end of the forum, Maria Krivenkova and Milena Petrova received certificates following their participation in the conference of Halal certification bodies!​
