This statement was made by the head of ministry during the roundtable on attracting investments in the Russian regions, organized by Ministry of Regional Development of the Russian Federation.
The event, which takes place today in Moscow, attended by the Executive Director of the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA) Carlos Bronzatto, WAIPA President, Turkey Attracting investment and support agency President Ilker Icy, Tatarstan Investment Development Agency (TIDA) Chief Executive, WAIPA Eastern Europe Director Linar Yakupov. The Republic of Tatarstan is represented at the event not only as a member of WAIPA, but also as a leader region in attracting investments.
The meeting also includes participation of the National Council for Investment Climate Development Chairman Yury Wojciechowski, representatives of major international companies, banks and investment promotion agencies from Germany, Switzerland, Mexico, Great Britain, Denmark, France, Singapore, Austria, as well as heads of regional development corporations.
At the round table Linar Yakupov presented regional aspect of attracting investments in the Republic of Tatarstan. In particular, was underscored the partnership of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency and WAIPA. TIDA entered into WAIPA in 2011, becoming the first representative of Russia joined the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies. In February 2013 at a meeting of the WAIPA General Assembly in Geneva Tatarstan Investment Development Agency was chosen as WAIPA Eastern Europe Director.
Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive in his speech noted the development of the Tatarstan investment platforms and “Invest in Tatarstan” PR- campaign on promoting investment opportunities of the region. TIDA Chief Executive Linar Yakupov also told about Kazan Smart City project and development of Islamic financial products.
At a meeting scheduled to discuss investment promotion mechanisms, a systematic approach in attracting investment to the country, coordination between some Russian regional agencies and the Russian Ministry of Regional Development working group. In addition, one of the topics for discussion - is an idea of creating a single investment portal and an interactive map of the investment potential of Russia. These will be offered as an effective mechanism for investor to have appropriate information about any region and their investment opportunities.
