"Tatarstan – Hubei" Business Forum

The third day of the working visit to China by Taliya Minullina, Head of the Investment Development Agency of the Republic of Tatarstan, began with participation in the Tatarstan–Hubei business forum. The Rais of the republic, Rustam Minnikhanov, spoke at it. He thanked the participants for their interest in Tatarstan and noted that he expects the results to open up new areas for cooperation and new projects.

The areas in which cooperation is currently carried out are petrochemicals, mechanical engineering and automotive industry, informatization and high technologies, agriculture, healthcare and others. 

"We are working with a number of Chinese provinces, including Hubei Province, within the framework of the cooperation council in the Volga-Yangtze format," the Rais of Tatarstan emphasized.

Taliya Minullina, Head of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency, also spoke at the forum. She presented the economic and investment potential of Tatarstan.

Next, the Rais of Tatarstan held a meeting with the Secretary of the Committee of the Communist Party of China of Hubei Province, Mr. Wang Zhonglin. The parties discussed the development of interregional cooperation, the implementation of joint projects and the expansion of business contacts between Russia and China.

Mr. Wang Zhongling pointed to the successful humanitarian and educational ties between the regions, including cooperation between Kazan Federal University and universities in Wuhan. During the meeting, the parties discussed the possibility of launching direct flights between Tatarstan and Hubei province.

Hubei Province is located in the central part of China in the Yangtze River basin and is an important transportation hub. Administratively, it is divided into 12 urban districts and one autonomous district. Wuhan, Xiangyang and Yichang are developing most dynamically.

The region's economy relies on optoelectronics, automotive, healthcare, modern chemical industry and agricultural processing. Hubei is also considered one of China's key innovation centers: 8 large scientific and technical infrastructure facilities, 45 national laboratories and 547 research institutes are located here.
