The exhibition "Made in Tatarstan": a panorama of the republic's achievements during the Russia–ASEAN Summit
On June 15, the exhibition "Made in Tatarstan", an exhibition of achievements of the Republic of Tatarstan, opened at the Center for Unique Craftsmanship. Here, on an area of more than 4,000 square meters, a panorama of everything that the republic is proud of today unfolded: industry, high technology, medicine, education, tourism and social projects. The exposition presents to the guests the industrial, scientific, technological, social and humanitarian potential of the republic. Outdoor and indoor exhibition areas are organized for visitors. The exhibition has become part of the business program of the Russia–ASEAN summit, which is taking place in Kazan from 17 to 19 June.
The summit brought together high-level delegations from dozens of countries. The exhibition became the first point of acquaintance with Tatarstan for many guests. The exhibition was organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Ministry of Youth Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Center for Unique Excellence with the support of the Government of the Republic and relevant departments, including the Agency for Investment Development of the Republic of Tatarstan. From June 15 to June 19, the exhibition is open to the summit participants, and on June 20 and 21, its doors will open to all residents and guests of Kazan.
What was shown to the guests: from the Ansat to the clay pot
The exhibition is divided into outdoor and indoor areas, each of which is impressive in its own way.
There are 30 samples of equipment (18 enterprises) located on the street. The light multipurpose Ansat helicopter of the Kazan Helicopter Plant took the central place – an aircraft characterized by a spacious cabin, high maneuverability and ease of maintenance. The Ansat is capable of landing on small unequipped platforms and operating at temperatures from minus 45 to plus 50 degrees, as well as flying in the highlands. Ansats are especially in demand in medical aviation: the cabin is equipped with a medical module for transporting patients and injured. The exhibition presents an import substitution version with mock–ups of domestic VK-650V engines (the first flight with them took place on September 2, 2025), upgraded blades and modern avionics equipment. The guests were particularly interested in the medical module for air ambulance.
Nearby is the first Russian serial electric car "Atom" from the Kama company. The car can accelerate to 100 km/h in eight seconds. The power reserve on a single charge is about 500 km. In January, the Atom was tested in Surgut at minus 42 degrees – the cabin warmed up to plus 24 degrees in 20 minutes. The car is equipped with six airbags, six external cameras (all-round view, blind spot monitoring) and two internal cameras to monitor driver fatigue.
The flagship of the domestic automotive industry, the Aurus "Senate", was not without its luxury design. The car is equipped with a V8 engine with two turbines with a capacity of 598 horsepower, acceleration to 100 km / h in 6.6 seconds. The equipment includes adaptive cruise control, lane keeping system, collision warning and exit assistance. Production is localized by 80-90%. Such cars are included in the motorcades of high-ranking guests at all summits in Russia, and Russian President Vladimir Putin drives a similar (only a restyled version).
The outdoor exhibition is completed by a line of KAMAZ trucks, SOLLERS cars, modern buses, agricultural machinery, mobile medical complexes and other developments of Tatarstan manufacturers.
The internal exposition brought together about 100 companies and organizations (more than 80, according to the organizers), representing the industrial, medical, information communication, agricultural, scientific, educational, tourism, and socio-humanitarian potential of the republic. Key republican ministries and departments have deployed their stands. The exposition is divided into 10 thematic zones: welcoming, industrial, information technology, agricultural, medical and social, scientific and educational, sports, youth, cultural, tourism.
Welcome zone of the Republic of Tatarstan
Kazan is the capital of the Islamic world
In 2026, Kazan officially has the status of the "Cultural Capital of the Islamic World." This title was awarded to the city by the decision of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and its specialized cultural institution, ISESCO.
The exhibition presents Turkic instruments made in Tatarstan by the Vildanov family, works by calligrapher Gulnaz Ildarovna Ismagilova (Gatiatullina) and modern printed editions of the Koran, souvenirs on the theme "Kazan is the cultural capital of the Islamic World."
The concept of the exhibition is dedicated to the spread of Islam in Tatarstan. They tell about historical facts and the versatility of this process: from trade routes to the formation of a unique Tatar theological thought and the recognition of Kazan as the cultural capital of the Islamic World.
Archaeological finds (tiles from ancient Bulgarians, ceramics, the first printed books) photographs of ancient mosques, works of theologians (a centuries-old dialogue of local tradition with the common Islamic world, from Volga Bulgaria and the Russian Empire to the present) old printed books in the Old Tatar language (Arabic graphics), (samples of stone epitaphs) household items with Arabic inscriptions with good wishes (jugs, dishes for ablutions), towels.
A special atmosphere was created by the Center of Unique Craftsmanship, a cluster where pottery, jewelry, leather, woodworking and sewing workshops operate daily. There are 18 types of folk crafts represented here.
TSUMA CEO Ranko Tepavcevic emphasized: "It is a great honor and responsibility for our Center of Unique Excellence to participate in the summit. We see our mission in preserving traditions and passing on skills to our children. We invite both residents and guests not only to see, but also to try: under the guidance of craftsmen, everyone will be able to create their own product – from clay, leather or fabric. This is a real bridge between cultures: through hands and traditions."
Strategic priorities: the view of Talia Minullina
In an exclusive interview with reporters, Taliya Minullina, Head of the Investment Development Agency of the Republic of Tatarstan, spoke in detail about the vectors of international cooperation, promising niches and expectations from the summit. Her answers reveal the strategic orientations of the republic on the map of Southeast Asia.
— Which of the 11 ASEAN countries does Tatarstan have the strongest economic ties with, and how does this translate?
"Of course, our "golden triangle" in ASEAN is Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam. We are connected with the first two not only by long-term cooperation, but also by common membership in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which opens up wide opportunities for certification of halal products and mutual supplies of mechanical engineering. As for Vietnam, it has roots in the Soviet past.: Tatarstan has always been an active participant in these relations, and today we see enormous untapped potential for their new chapter."
— In which areas and with which states do you see the most promising prospects?
"The philosophy of our approach is simple: we need to look for our own unique point of contact with each country. Some of this is sports, some is culture, but economic interests are at the core. We aim not only to expand exports, but also to import technologies. Currently, Tatarstan is actively developing the medical industry, shipbuilding and helicopter industry, automotive industry and machine tool industry - these are the areas we are ready to offer our partners. Singapore stands apart. Although I mentioned him separately, he is our long-time mentor: we adopted their experience in urban planning, created the Institute of spatial planning and actively worked in the transport sector. The Russian Ambassador to Singapore has repeatedly noted that Tatarstan is the most active and advanced representative of our country in these relations. It is no coincidence that this year's ASEAN summit was honored by the presence of the Prime Minister of Singapore and a representative delegation of 42 people."
— What result do you expect from the summit for the economy of Tatarstan?
"What is important for us is not the momentary signing of papers, but the systemic effect. Increasing the tourist attractiveness is at the forefront. A territory that is not known is not invested in. We use this platform as an opportunity to express ourselves. In addition, we are waiting for the intensification of trade operations and investment promotion. This is a unique information occasion: there are journalists here not only from ASEAN countries, but also from all over the world, who were attracted by the very fact of holding such an event in Russia. We are actively using the resources of the mass media to integrate Tatarstan into the global information field. And our main message remains unchanged: the republic has the best business climate in Russia and rightfully ranks first in the country in terms of investment attractiveness."
Who visited the exhibition: two days of high visits
The exposition has become a magnet for top officials and delegations. On June 17, the first day of work for the summit participants, the exhibition was visited in the morning by Vietnamese Prime Minister Le Minh Hung. He admitted that this was his first time in Tatarstan, and he was "very impressed" by the republic. Then came Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan, and Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation, followed by Sergey Katyrin, President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In the afternoon, the delegations of Malaysia, Myanmar and East Timor joined the inspection. The day ended with a visit by foreign media.
On June 18, the program was even more intense:
10:00 a.m. – Delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture of Cambodia.
11:00 a.m. – participants of the Tatarstan Trading House business forum.
11:30 a.m. – Alexey Chekunkov, Minister of the Russian Federation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic; also participants of the business forum from the Idea Technopark.
13:00 – several groups at once: participants of the International Association for Territorial Development, the delegation of the Philippines (Philippine-Russian Business Assembly), representatives of the Indonesian Manna Indonesia Group, scientists from the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the delegation of Thailand.
13:30 – Minister of Finance of Russia Anton Siluanov.
14:00 – spouses of the heads of the top officials of the ASEAN countries.
16:00 – Prime Minister of Laos Sonexai Siphandon; also SCO Secretary General Nurlan Yermekbayev.
Preliminary plans for the near future include an inspection of the street exhibition by a delegation from Myanmar, visits by the ASEAN Secretary General, representatives of Brunei, Singapore and Indonesia.
Earlier, before the official opening, the exhibition was already visited by delegations from Serbia, Thailand, India, Singapore, as well as the head of Roscongress, Alexander Stuglev, who carefully studied Tatarstan's investment and industrial potential. Stuglev noted: "The exhibition has all the areas that ASEAN countries might be interested in: medicine and healthcare, information technology, food industry and agriculture, culture and tourism." In his interviews, he repeatedly emphasized "the growing interest in Russia against the background of global turbulence."
Vietnamese Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, who visited the exhibition, said: "I am sure that the Russia–ASEAN summit will give a good impetus to the development of cooperation between Vietnam and Russia." At the meeting with the President of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, trade and economic relations were discussed - last year, the trade turnover between Tatarstan and Vietnam reached $63 million. Rustam Minnikhanov proposed to open the Consulate General of Vietnam in Kazan.
The team of the Investment Development Agency is at the center of events
Throughout the days of the exhibition, the Investment Development Agency of the Republic of Tatarstan plays a key role in the presentation of the region. His staff does not just welcome guests – they build bridges for future cooperation, present investment potential, support measures and opportunities for the implementation of joint projects.
The head of the Agency, Taliya Minullina, personally participates in the most significant negotiations. On June 17, she presented Tatarstan's investment potential to the Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry of Malaysia, Johari Abdul Ghani, and also took part in a meeting between the President of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Prime Minister of Vietnam, Mr. Le Minh Hung, in the Kazan Kremlin. Her work with foreign delegations is highly appreciated by the organizers.
Deputy heads Insaf Galiev and Maria Krivenkova coordinate the team's work on the site on a daily basis, providing personal support for each delegation. Agency employee Yulia Galeeva, for example, is currently working with a delegation from the Idea Technopark. She helps potential residents and partners assess the infrastructure and tax advantages of the site, and talks about support measures. Employee Kirill Baranov conducted a tour of the outdoor exhibition for the Malaysian delegation on June 17, and for businessmen from the Philippines on June 18, showing them the equipment and production capabilities in detail.
Taliya Minullina shared the impressions of the guests: "They are, of course, very impressed, especially those who are visiting the Republic of Tatarstan on an official visit for the first time. First of all, they are impressed by the great potential of our industry, they like the outdoor exhibition of machinery. It's not something you see every day when completely different engineering products are presented on the same site. Those heads of state who cannot visit in person due to the busy program send their ministers and their delegations here."
She also noted the importance of the exposition as a tool for attracting partners: "The idea to collect the achievements of the republic in one place in an exhibition about Tatarstan belongs to the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Nurgalievich Minnikhanov. It would be possible to develop this format and make it permanent, by placing it near Kazanexpo or creating a separate museum of Tatarstan's modern economy. So far, the issue requires budgetary solutions, but the response is already huge: the ASEAN guests are delighted, and most importantly, we have received new export contracts and new direct customers." This comment is the best confirmation that the exhibition has become a real driver of international cooperation.
The most frequent questions of the guests: what surprises and interests them
During the days of work, the Agency's staff recorded three main questions from foreign delegations.
1. "Is all this really made in Tatarstan?"
The guests did not believe that such a variety – from helicopters and electric vehicles to medical equipment and IT platforms - was concentrated in one region. The answer was live exhibits and presentations.
2. "What support measures are provided for foreign investors?"
This question was raised by representatives of Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore and other countries. The Agency's staff spoke in detail about tax preferences, special economic zones, project support in the "one-stop shop" mode, the investment portal of the Republic of Tatarstan, which integrates a showcase of the republic's property, including cultural heritage sites, and how to quickly launch production in Tatarstan.
3. "How do we start cooperation?"
The delegations were looking for specific contacts, entry points, and industry partners. This is exactly what the Agency's team worked for at the exhibition – to provide comprehensive answers and build lively business relationships. And these ties will already grow into signed contracts.
The exhibition continues and awaits everyone.
From June 15 to June 19, the exposition is open to the summit participants, and on June 20 and 21, the doors of the Center for Unique Craftsmanship will be available to all comers – residents and guests of Kazan.
Oleg Korobchenko, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan, commented on the exhibition: "Today, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations is a priority area for Tatarstan's foreign economic activity. We are actively working with almost all countries. Their delegations show great interest in our republic, which is confirmed by visits at the highest level. Our companies are also interested in cooperation with the countries of Southeast Asia. The Ministry holds regular meetings with trade representatives, which were attended by representatives from the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore and Vietnam. This format has helped dozens of exporting companies to find niches and learn about the peculiarities of the economies of our friendly countries. And as part of the Russia–ASEAN summit, we are presenting a large-scale exhibition "Made in Tatarstan". I am sure that the summit will become a new springboard for our countries and enterprises, as it was with BRICS."
Tatarstan has opened itself to the world through technology, traditions and people. And the team of the Investment Development Agency has proved that it is able not only to show, but also to sell, sign contracts and create a reputation as a reliable partner. New visits and new agreements are ahead, but it is already clear that "Made in Tatarstan" is a brand that is well–known and appreciated.
