Tatarstan was one of the first countries in the country to systematically develop public-private partnerships and today is one of Russia's leaders in the development of this mechanism. One of the key success factors was the investor support system built in the republic: working on the principle of a "single window", minimizing administrative barriers and comprehensive project support at all stages of implementation.
It was this experience that was presented at the Cheboksary Economic Forum as part of the round table "PPP as an effective tool for infrastructure development in the region." Zukhra Gaisina, Head of the Public-Private Partnership Development Department at the Investment Development Agency of the Republic of Tatarstan, spoke about investor support mechanisms and successful cases in the region. The forum participants were presented with projects implemented in the field of sports, transport, social infrastructure and housing and communal services, including the Cleversport sports and recreation complex, Nizhnekamsk Thermal Baths, a dental clinic in Nizhnekamsk, the Alekseevsk-Almetyevsk highway, secondary school No. 186 in Kazan on R. Gareeva St. and others.
The experience of the republic aroused great interest among representatives of municipalities of the Chuvash Republic. The participants of the discussion noted that Tatarstan demonstrates an effective approach to the development of territories and the implementation of infrastructure projects involving private investment. The discussion was moderated by Artur Shcheglov, an expert in the field of infrastructure projects and PPP. Larisa Rafikova, Minister of Economic Development and Property Relations of the Chuvash Republic, also took part in the discussion.
