Today, a meeting of the Board of Directors of JSC Tatneftekhiminvest-holding was held under the chairmanship of the President of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov. Taliya Minullina, Head of the Investment Development Agency, took part in the work.

POLYMER HUB FOR TATARSTAN
Radiy Kanzafarov, General Director of Makrokom LLC (Chelyabinsk), spoke about the possibilities of a strategic partnership between the companies in the development and production of modern polymer compounds based on micromark, zeolites and their mixtures. They are designed for the production of packaging, building materials, pipe products, products for the oil and gas industry, agriculture and housing and communal services.
It is proposed to form a polymer hub for Tatarstan, a competence center that unites producers of raw materials, polymer processors, scientific organizations and industrial enterprises in the region.
A MEDICAL BREAKTHROUGH: ENDOPROSTHESIS MATERIAL
Alexander Zabolotnov, General Director of Engineering Polymers LLC (Moscow), reported on the prospects for the production of medical ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE). They are used in the manufacture of endoprostheses of large joints as artificial cartilage. This is the only such enterprise in Russia. They have mastered the full cycle: from powder to finished semi-finished products (sheets, cylinders) and final products (knee pads that perform the function of "artificial cartilage" in endoprostheses). In terms of wear resistance, the material surpasses a number of leading foreign analogues.
According to Alexander Zabolotnov, the project is of practical importance for the republic, as it allows enterprises to be supplied with domestic raw materials, increasing the competitiveness of Russian products. This creates prerequisites for the development of medical tourism and the expansion of export potential. In addition, a proposal was made to create a large-scale production of general industrial UHMWPE in the republic with a volume of 3 to 10 thousand tons per year.
Talia Minullina: "Similar developments will also be discussed at the first Scientific and Business Symposium "Russia-China: Technologies for Healthcare" within the framework of the ROSTKI Forum, which will be held on August 17-18. The latest developments from Russian and Chinese manufacturers, which have already been tested in practice, will be presented there. Tatarstan's investment opportunities for localizing the production of medical equipment, tools and consumables are very good — we already have successful experience working with projects in the healthcare sector. The demand for high-quality medical products is consistently high, and exhibitions within the framework of Tatarstan international economic forums will help with access to markets in other regions of the country and abroad. For example, in forums with China (SPROUTS) and with India (TIME), businesses and others can participate for free."
