Regular high-speed water service on the Kazan - Naberezhnye Chelny – Kazan route has been revived

On May 1, 2026, regular high-speed water service on the Kazan - Naberezhnye Chelny - Kazan route was revived in Tatarstan. After decades of interruption, modern Meteors will once again connect the key tourist and industrial centers of the republic, turning the trip into a real journey along the Volga and Kama Rivers.

Regular passenger flights are operated weekly on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays starting and lasting until August 30. The route passes through the key tourist points of the region: Kazan → Kama Estuary → Chistopol → Nizhnekamsk → Yelabuga → Naberezhnye Chelny.

Modern hydrofoil vessels Meteor 2020 are operating on the line. The warm and comfortable cabins can accommodate up to 120 passengers, are characterized by improved seaworthiness and are equipped with all modern safety equipment. For the convenience of travelers, hand luggage up to 20 kg is provided.

According to the results of 12 weeks of operation, about 5.8 thousand people were transported on the new route, the average load was 481 passengers, and the peak load was 783 passengers, which indicates that this direction is gaining popularity among the population and guests of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The cost of tickets varies depending on the distance of the trip. A wide system of benefits is provided for pensioners, students, children from 5 to 10 years old, large families, people with disabilities and members of their families. Children under 5 years old travel for free without providing a separate seat.

The new flight opens a unique format of weekend trips along the Volga and Kama Rivers. Special excursion programs have been developed for passengers, allowing them to learn about Tatarstan's rich heritage in a short time. Briefly about each:

Kama Estuary

In the Kama Estuary, a program is offered with a tour of viewpoints, one of which is Mount Lobach, a tasting of locally produced Camembert cheeses, lunch with a view of the confluence of the Kama and Volga rivers, as well as wine tasting.

Chistopol

Get acquainted with the historical center and visit one of the museums to choose from: the Boris Pasternak Memorial Museum, the Museum of the History of the city or the Museum and Exhibition Center. The key point of the program is a guided tour of the Merchant's Estate with lunch. Transfers and entrance fees are charged additionally.

Nizhnekamsk

A full-fledged wellness and cultural weekend. The program of the first day includes accommodation at the THERMY Hotel and rest in the famous Nizhnekamsk thermal baths for an additional fee, as well as a walking tour of the Spring of the Creator. The second day is dedicated to the bus and walking tour "Young Green Nizhnekamsk" with a visit to the main Cathedral mosque "Jamig", the Church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, the picturesque embankment of the Kama River and the city Art Museum.

Yelabuga

A walk through the merchant city of the 19th century with a visit to the legendary Devil's hillfort. Guests will see the famous houses and museums of Ivan Shishkin and Marina Tsvetaeva. The atmosphere of time travel will be complemented by ancient merchant mansions and a breathtaking panorama of the confluence of the Toyma and Kama rivers.

Naberezhnye Chelny

There are two program options available - "Friday-Saturday" or "Saturday-Sunday". The accommodation is booked independently. Tourists will take a sightseeing tour of the New City and the visit center of the KAMAZ plant, get acquainted with the expositions of the Museum of the History of the city and take a walk to the Nizhnekamsk hydroelectric power station. This is an opportunity to see Naberezhnye Chelny as an industrial giant and at the same time a picturesque corner with views of the Kama River and the famous Shishkin forests.
