A meeting of the WAIPA Steering Committee in Cape Town

Tatarstan Investment Development Agency takes part in the working meeting of the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA)Steering Committee as WAIPA Regional Director for Eastern Europe.

WAIPA Steering Committee – is an executive body of the WAIPA General Assembly, whose task is to plan and implement the development strategy of the organization. During the meeting of the committee which holds from 23 to 24 January 2014 in the legislative capital of South Africa – Cape Town, regional representatives will discuss the results of the association in 2013, as well as a strategy on WAIPA promoting in foreign conferences and events, scheduled for 2014. Also will be discussed the prospects of WAIPA until 2015.

About WAIPA

WAIPA is a nongovernmental organization established in 1995 in Geneva to establish contacts and cooperation, exchange of experience and important information in the field of foreign direct investment among investment agencies. World Association includes 168 investment agencies from 122 countries.

In September 2011, Tatarstan Investment Development Agency led by Linar Yakupov joined the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies, becoming the first Russian representative to join the WAIPA. In February 2013 at a meeting of the WAIPA General Assembly in Geneva Tatarstan Investment Development Agency become a member of WAIPA Steering Committee and appointed as WAIPA Eastern Europe Director.
