January 27 in Prague held the first 2014 year event of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency on priority areas of the region.
Tatarstan delegation led by Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Linar Yakupov at the seminar presented investment opportunities of the region, Kazan Smart City and Innopolis projects. Participants, among which Czech companies working in energy sector, construction and design, engineering and automotive components, consulting, banking and financial services, medicine and pharmaceuticals, services and tourism, acquainted with the stages of projects’ implementation and their development.
Welcoming the participants, Trade and Economic Representative of the Republic of Tatarstan in the Czech Republic Zoufar Abdulgaleev, underscored the importance of the meeting. About the development of Tatarstan-Czech and Czech-Russian economic relations told Head of Foreign Affairs Department in Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic Irji Mashata. He also noted the importance of institutional support for business and told about the cooperation of the Czech representatives with colleagues from Tatarstan. Irji Mashata noted that Tatarstan, compared with other Russian regions, is more business oriented and spends considerable work to improve the business climate. Russia was named as one of the most important partners in the development of an export strategy of the Czech Republic. Concluding his speech, Mr. Mashata invoked the Czech entrepreneurs to go to the Russian regions.
His opinion on the role of cultural interaction as one of the factors contributing to business cooperation shared the Chairman of the Russian-Czech Chamber of Commerce Vladimir Ermakov. He also expressed hope that trade between Russia and the Czech Republic will continue to grow.
Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Linar Yakupov, focusing on investment opportunities of the region, described the activities of the Agency and the work made for Tatarstan promotion. Linar Yakupov underscored that the investment attractiveness of the region largely determines the head of the republic, in particular, the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, who is personally meet with potential investors interested in cooperation with the republic. Linar Yakupov also noted that in Kazan in March will be held International Winter forum «Invest in Tatarstan», where Mr. Minnikhanov will attend a meeting of Tatarstan Investors Club.
During the meeting discussed the Czech small and medium businesses, implemented in investment projects in the territory of Tatarstan. Czech entrepreneurs have expressed their interest in cooperation with local players and investors. Czech businessman Mr. Zdenek Zbitek, whose company offers solutions in the field of efficient use of gas and gas fuel in power plants, noted the possibility of its business development in Russia.
In addition, the participants discussed the current state and development of bilateral trade and economic relations between the Czech Republic and the Republic of Tatarstan, and the prospects of Russian-Czech trade and economic cooperation.
