Rustam Minnikhanov meet with Arab Ambassadors

The meeting, which took place in the residence of Saudi Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador in the Russian Federation, attended by 11 ambassadors and 7 temporary attorneys of Arab countries.

In discussing of cooperation between the Republic of Tatarstan and the Arab countries also participate the Vice Speaker of the Federation Council Ilyas Umakhanov, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Tatarstan on international issues Radik Gimatdinov, Vice Prime Minister – Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Zaripov, Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Linar Yakupov, «Tatneft» CEO Nail Maganov, Rector of Kazan Federal University Ilshat Gafurov.

Saudi Ambassador of the Russian Federation Ali Hassan Jaafar, welcoming a delegation of Tatarstan, told that the Arab countries know the Republic of Tatarstan. He also underscored that he was in the republic during the III International Economic Summit of Russia and OIC countries (KazanSummit 2011) and was personally convinced that «Tatarstan – one of the most developed regions of Russia».

«Thank you for the opportunity to meet, - told the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. - Role of Tatarstan in Russia's relations with the Arab world is very significant. Similarity of our cultures, religions affects our relationship».

Continuing discussions Rustam Minnikhanov invited Arab Ambassadors to come to Tatarstan and get acquainted with the region and its capabilities by offering to participate in the II International Winter Forum «Invest in Tatarstan», which will be held in Kazan on March 5-6. In June this year, added the President of Tatarstan, ambassadors can come to KazanSummit 2014, which will be hold on 5-6 June.

Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Linar Yakupov told about the economic and investment potential of the region. He said that one of the main themes of the summit will be the production of agricultural products in Tatarstan for the needs of Arab States. It was also noted that during the VI International Economic Summit in Russia and OIC countries (KazanSummit 2014) planned Russian-African Forum and Business Forum «Tatarstan – the UAE».

Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Zaripov at the meeting with the ambassadors told about engineering produced in the republic and KFU Rector Ilshat Gafurov – about the possibilities of Kazan Federal University.
