Russia is a honorable country at the MIPIM International real estate exhibition in Cannes

In the exhibition, which opened on the eve in France, Russia represents the projects of real estate and transport infrastructure.

Russian Federation, whose projects are presented in several MIPIM 2014 pavilions, shared the status of «honorable country» with Turkey and Brazil. The exhibition was attended by over 20,000 visitors from 90 countries and 4.5 thousands of investors.

Our country at the exhibition present 16 regions, including Moscow, Vladimir, Tula, Bryansk regions, Chuvash Republic and several other subjects of the Russian Federation. From the Republic of Tatarstan in MIPIM 2014 attended Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Linar Yakupov.

Business forum program, which will be held in Cannes from 11 to 14 March, is very saturated: this is the pedestrian zones, public space, architectural competitions, and new projects of construction companies. There will also be discussion on the development of sports facilities, industrial areas and transport hubs.

On March 12 at the MIPIM 2014 held a large-scale international conference «Invest in Russia», organized jointly by the Ministry of Regional Development of the Russian Federation, the National Investment Agency «Invest in Russia» and the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA). The conference moderated by the Executive Director of the «Invest in Russia» Yuriy Wojciechowski.

«In order to win the competition for foreign capital at all levels of government is currently holding a great work, - said the State Secretary, Deputy Minister of Regional Development of the Russian Federation Svetlana Ivanova. - Government of the Russian Federation approved and implemented 9 «road maps» to improve the business climate in the construction, connection to the grid, customs regulation and other areas.

«Roadmaps» contain more than 400 events till 2018 and are aimed at simplifying administrative procedures, reducing timing, their costs and improving investment laws. The result of the efforts, announced at the conference, was an investment process indicators showing that in Russia has seen a substantial increase of foreign direct investment. In the Russian economy received 170.2 billion dollars of foreign investment, which is 10.1 % more than in 2012. Foreign direct investment was $ 26.1 billion, an increase by 2012 – 40%. More than half of the investments – 52.8% – were in the manufacturing industry and only 7% -– mineral extraction.

Many foreign investors still do not see the real potential of our regions and sectors of the national economy. And not all Russian regions have sufficient experience and qualifications to work with foreign partners. Ministry of Regional Development of the Russian Federation has offered itself as a platform for attracting investments into the Russian regions: with the participation of the Ministry in Russia created the National Investment Agency «Invest in Russia».

Russia today, as announced participants, has an important task to continue the growth and modernization of the economy, as well as a significant increase in foreign direct investment. By the way, at this point almost every 83 subjects of the Russian Federation has already created or is in the process of establishing investment promotion agencies, as well as working to improve the investment climate.

Republic of Tatarstan at the conference was presented as one of the leading Russian regions to attract investment, whose experience and practical ideas were used during the creation of the National Investment Agency «Invest in Russia». Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Linar Yakupov, in his speech underscored that in 2011 the Agency became the first representative of Russia to join the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies. In February 2013 at a meeting of the WAIPA General Assembly in Geneva Tatarstan Investment Development Agency was adopted to the steering committee and appointed as WAIPA Eastern Europe Director.

WAIPA Executive Director Carlos Bronzatto, noted that the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies welcomes the Russian news agency "Invest in Russia" and is ready to provide institutional support to its new partner in Russia.
