Tatarstan as a territory for the localization of automotive components was discussed at the VI Russian-Japanese investment forum
During «The automotive industry and the development of supporting industries» roundtable Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Head of support and monitoring of investment projects Arthur Nigmatulin presented the region's potential as a platform where can develop the production of automotive components.
Discussion was moderated by the Department of Transport and special auto construction Director in Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Alexander Morozov, the multilateral trading system department of trade policy CEO in Japan Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry Sigehiro Tanaka. Sigehiro Tanaka told the participants about the current situation and prospects of investment cooperation between Japan and Russia in the automotive field.

Topics for discussion were the Russian automotive industry and the possibility of Russian-Japanese cooperation in this area, clusters of automotive industry in Russia and measures to attract components manufacturers. Toyota Tsusho Corporation introduced the production of Mitsubishi Motors in Russia, Mitsui & Co., Ltd - steel materials recycling center, located on the territory of the Russian Federation.
Arthur Nigmatulin, presenting the "Potential for the localization of automotive components in the Republic of Tatarstan", told about the favorable location of the region and the proximity of the republic to such large plants as Volksvagen in Nizhny Novgorod, Renault-Nissan AvtoVAZ in the Samara region. Presence in the region Russia's largest automaker - JSC «KAMAZ», the successful development of business in the territory of Tatarstan of such companies as Ford Sollers, Mercedes-Benz Vostok, Kiekert RUS was noted. Also was presented the industrial sites and logistics parks of the republic.
