The second forum of development institutions starts in Yekaterinburg
In the events of the forum takes part Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Linar Yakupov.
The second forum of development institutions, which holds on April 2-3 in Yekaterinburg, is a specialized area of international, federal and regional development institutions to discuss best practices and development prospects. Compared to last year at the Second Forum greatly expanded topics for discussion, increased the number of guests from international organizations and agencies.
This year, special attention is paid to the inter-layer cooperation of development institutions in implementing the investment, especially infrastructure projects, the organization of projects using public-private partnerships.
Organizers of the forum, in addition to the Ministry of Regional Development of the Russian Federation, Sverdlovsk Region Government and the Development Corporation of the Middle Urals are: Eurasian Development Bank and the Russian Agency for Export Credit and Investment Insurance. The Forum is also supported by the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA), National Investment Agency «Invest in Russia», the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the public organization «Business Russia», National Association of Investment and Development Agencies, Association of Industrial Parks.
In total, the forum was attended by over 600 people, including representatives of more than 50 corporations and development agencies from different regions of Russia and foreign countries.
Linar Yakupov on the first day of the forum presented at the «Industrial parks as part of the national industrial policy» roundtable, where he told about the existing industrial areas and parks in the region and shared his experience about the creation of industrial sites at the municipal level. Tatarstan Investment Development Agency also introduced the successful experience of the special economic zone «Alabuga», implementation stages of the second special economic zone in Tatarstan – Innopolis, whose territory is adjacent to Kazan Smart City.
Roundtable participants, which include Minister of Regional Development of Russia Igor Slyunyaev, The head of Nomura Research Institute’s Moscow office Iwao Ohashi, representatives of «KIP «Master», the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, discussed the promotion and support of industrial parks, sectorial development issues for attraction investments.
Tomorrow Linar Yakupov will participate in the «International practice of agencies to attract direct investment», moderated by the Executive Director of the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA) Carlos Bronzatto and Executive Director of the Federal Agency «Invest in Russia» Yuriy Wojciechowski. To participate in this discussion also invited Tatarstan Investment Development Agency, Turkey Support and Investment Agency, the Agency «Invest in France», the Swiss Trade and Investment Agency, the Forfas Irish Agency of Enterprise, Trade and Innovation.
