Linar Yakupov: «Tatarstan is interested in joint ventures of Chinese companies with local entrepreneurs»

Yesterday at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Linar Yakupov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Ruslan Kabirov and Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Tatarstan Chairman Shamil Ageev summed up the working visit of the region delegation led by Rustam Minnikhanov in China.

During the visit, which lasted from April 15 to 18, Tatarstan delegates visited Urumqi, Beijing, Hong Kong and held about 20 meetings with Chinese representatives. This trip resulted with a number of signed agreements and arrangements about the elaboration of the opportunities for joint investment projects. Tatarstan Investment Development Agency signed a memorandum of cooperation with one of the world leaders in the manufacture of transformers and electric equipment - the TBEA Chinese Company. As noted Linar Yakupov, currently TBEA is working on the organization of the working visit to the Republic of Tatarstan.

Speaking on a visit to Urumqi, Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive noted that this region is interesting for the republic in areas such as energy, agriculture and transport. Linar Yakupov underscored that China intends to revive  the Great Silk Road for interaction with Europe via Kazakhstan and Russia. Part of this road will pass through the Republic of Tatarstan. In Hong Kong, the delegation of the region presented «Innopolis», also organized meetings with the business community of China, during which noted China's interest in cooperation with the republic. Mr. Minnikhanov, presenting Tatarstan at these meetings, told about the opportunities that exist in the region and the economic and investment plan of the republic.

Linar Yakupov also underscored China's political decision to work with Russian companies and enter into the region.

«Our task – to present themselves, to show all of our opportunities and try as much as possible not just to attract Chinese investors, but try to make sure that there will exist the joint ventures with our entrepreneurs», - he shared.

Ruslan Kabirov, sharing with impressions about the trip to China, noted that for Tatarstan interesting the experience of Chinese representatives in creating industrial parks for small and medium-sized industrial enterprises. Shamil Ageev presented details of the agreements, which the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic signed with a Trade Facilitation Committee of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and China Chamber of Commerce for export and import of mechanical and technical products.
