Kiekert RUS: localization of production in Tatarstan

At the KIP «Master» site opened a plant of a world leader in innovative technologies producing locking systems for various cars – Kiekert AG.

The ceremony was attended by Kiekert AG Executive Vice President Jürgen Rudolph Poilen, Kiekert RUS CEO Alexander Conson, Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive First Deputy Robert Galiullin, Naberezhnye Chelny Head of the executive committee Farhad Latypov.

As Jurgen Poilen noted the German manufacturer has 1200 proprietary products and the company is continually investing in new technologies. The company, whose plants are located in Germany, the Czech Republic, the USA, Mexico, China and now in Russia, employing over 5,000 employees. Among the Kiekert AG clients – more than 50 car brands: Mercedes, Renoult/Nissan, Ford, Daimler, BMW, Fiat/Chrysler, General Motors. The total turnover of the company in 2014 will exceed 650 million euro. The share of Kiekert AG on the market of auto parts is 18%.

The decision on the localization of production in Russia, the German manufacturer made in 2012 and considered several Russian regions. During the active work with Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Kiekert AG chose the Republic of Tatarstan, and in particular, the KIP «Master» site.

«Best concept of working with the investor, we saw in the Republic of Tatarstan, - underscored at the opening ceremony Jurgen Poilen. - Teamwork of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency and KIP «Master» was gorgeous and we are very happy. And if we had to choose a new site for the localization of Kiekert AG in Russia, we would have chosen the Republic of Tatarstan».

At the tour in the Kiekert RUS factory noted that the capacity of the production line, the installation of which is finished in March this year, enables to produce 1.5 million car locks a year. The factory locates in an area of 1500 square meters, at the stage of production’s start involved about 30 employees. Currently Kiekert RUS works with GAS and Ford Sollers.

Implementation of Kiekert RUS investment project in Tatarstan held in a short time: work started in October 2013 and in May 2014 has started production. Jurgen Poilen noted that Kiekert RUS has a big plans for localization of production in Russia and expressed the hope that the plant in the Republic of Tatarstan will repeat the success of company as in other countries.
