WAIPA headquarters moves from Geneva to Istanbul

Voting for moving of the head office of the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA) took place during the meeting of the General Assembly of the organization at the annual WAIPA International Investment Conference.

Proposal to change the location of the headquarters was announced in January at a meeting of the WAIPA Steering Committee, which was held from 23 to 24 January 2014 in the legislative capital of South Africa – Cape Town.

At a meeting in Cape Town discussed the results of the association in 2013, the strategy for the promotion of WAIPA within the conferences and events in 2014, the plan of the organization this year and prospects of WAIPA for the period until 2015. The motto of the WAIPA new strategy is «Moving Forward!».

Turkey, which has become a new WAIPA central office, is one of the largest economies in the world and the leader in attracting foreign direct investment (FDI). WAIPA President is the Head of The Republic of Turkey Prime Ministry Investment Support and Promotion Agency (ISPAT) Ilker Aydzhi.
