President of Tatarstan visits «Zhangjiang» special economic zone in Shanghai

During the visit, to Rustam Minnikhanov presented the development of new and high-tech industrial park – «Shanghai Pudong» software- park.

Technopark’s area is 580 thousand square meters, and has 38,000 employees of IT companies. 1391 resident, including 562 actually have offices in Technopark. Revenues in 2013 amounted to 55.2 billion yuan (9.2 billion dollars).

As the representatives of the zone noted, the relatively high cost of living in Shanghai and high wages makes the leadership of SEZ to provide additional benefits to companies. Thus, the Chinese government partially subsidizes rents for startups.

In the industrial park have their development centers and manufacturing facilities are well-known companies –  electronics manufacturers like HTC, Qualcomm, Texas Instruments.

 

About «Zhangjiang»

Special Economic Zone of new and high technologies development «Zhangjiang» was created in 1992 in the heart of Pudong – the new business district of Shanghai. Area of the zone is 79.7 sq. km, today it employs 320,000 people, most of them - young people. In 2013, the company's revenue totaled 480 billion yuan (80 billion dollars). Tax expense in the past year amounted to 25 billion yuan (4.2 billion dollars).

The biggest trend in the area is IT technologies - Zhangjiang has a half of investment in production of integrated circuits in Shanghai and half of the profits of this industry. The second branch is pharmaceuticals – revenues of pharmaceutical companies in 2013 amounted to 40.7 billion yuan (6.6 billion dollars). «Creative» industry, associated with multimedia entertainment, brought to the area in 2013 25 billion yuan in revenue.

Perspective directions of zone’s development are «green» energy technologies. Also in the «Zhangjiang» located development center of COMAC Chinese Aircraft Corporation, where perspective airliners are designed.
