In St. Petersburg opens XVIII Petersburg International Economic Forum

The forum, which is held from 22 to 24 May, will be attended by President Vladimir Putin.

With a working visit to participate in the XVIII Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) arrived Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov. The official delegation of the Republic includes Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Linar Yakupov.

The forum's theme – «Building trust in an era of change». The program is built around five main thematic areas: «The summit of global business leaders», «Risk management to promote growth», «Development of the competitive potential of Russia», «Management of breakthrough technologies and adapting to changes», «Leadership Series: Talks defining the future».

Participation in SPIEF confirmed about 150 major and 450 world leading Russian companies, scheduled to arrive more than 100 official delegations from 62 countries. According to preliminary data, SPIEF gather more than 6.5 thousand people, of which 1.5 thousand – journalists.

Tatarstan delegation headed by Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in session «Joining Russia: results of the audit process and price feasibility study for the construction of the first domestic high-speed rail line Moscow – Kazan». Besides Rustam Minnikhanov plans to held series of business meetings and negotiations at the site of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, with such representatives as  PwC, IBM, «Metro AG» and other companies.
