Tatarstan can become a launching pad to entering of Turkish business on a huge Russian market

This statement was made by President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov during the Tatarstan-Turkish Mediterranean trade and economic forum in Turkish Mersin.

In his speech at the forum head of republic expressed his gratitude to the leadership of Turkey for the attention that is paid to the development of inter-regional cooperation. Tatarstan President said that Turkey ranks first in the number of enterprises with foreign capital registered in the territory of Tatarstan. Such companies in the country today are 278. He also said that this year in the SEZ «Alabuga» is scheduled to open a number of Turkish plants.

According to Rustam Minnikhanov we have a high level of cooperation with the Republic of Turkey, but at the same time there is a huge economic potential, which should be used effectively.

«Tatarstan – one of the leading and industrialized and most attractive regions of Russia, - said the President of Tatarstan. - The Russian market is rapidly growing and we are interested that Turkish companies to choose Tatarstan as a launching pad for entering to the market. We would like to make Tatarstan as the «front door» to the huge Russian market. We will try to create all the necessary conditions».
