Rustam Minnikhanov meets with Deputy Chairman of the Russian Federation Council Ilyas Umakhanov

The meeting was held at the site of the International Information Centre in Kazan within the VI International Economic Summit of Russia and OIC counties (KazanSummit 2014).

Tatarstan President thanked the delegation of the Federation Council on KazanSummit 2014 for supporting activities on the part of the Federation Council, noting that the summit is the third consecutive year performs as the federal platform to strengthen cooperation between Russia and the Islamic world. This year's summit attended by about 20 representatives of the Federation Council.

President of the Republic of Tatarstan at a meeting with Russian parliamentarians told about the economy of the republic, the further development of some of its industries, in particular oil production, refining, petrochemical, engineering and others. Special role, according to the head of the republic, plays agriculture. He told in more detail about the making of the rural farms, development and support of the household. In general, it helps to provide employment, he said, underscoring that the support of the village today is carried out at many levels.

Tatarstan President also shared the work on the implementation in the republic of such large investment projects as the construction of a satellite town Innopolis and Kazan Smart City. Parliamentarians in response noted that today Tatarstan demonstrates a new model of economic development of the region, using modern technology in the economy, and provides tolerance and peaceful coexistence of many nations and religions on its territory.
