State Advisor of the Republic of Tatarstan meets with the Ambassador of Qatar in Russia

Meeting of Mintimer Shaimiev and Saud Abdullah Al Mahmoud held during the visit of the Qatari delegation to the VI International Economic Summit of Russia and OIC countries KazanSummit 2014. Together with Saud Abdullah Al Mahmoud the meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce of Qatar Sultan Al Khater.

Sharing their impressions of participation in KazanSummit 2014 guests noted the high level of event organization, which opens up new directions of cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Qatar, helps to strengthen relations with Tatarstan.

«This is huge Your personal merit as the basis of our successful cooperation was laid by you, - said, referring to Mintimer Shaimiev, Saud Abdullah Al Mahmoud. - We are pleased that the new leadership of the republic continues your policy, developing bilateral relations not only in the economic but also scientific and cultural fields».

State Advisor of the Republic of Tatarstan also shared with the guests impressions on his visit to Qatar in 2007 in the Russian delegation during the official visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to the Middle East.

During the meeting the sides discussed prospects of cooperation, in particular the issues of expanding contacts in the sphere of culture, education and tourism. The guests spoke about the most famous museum of the country the Museum of Islamic Art. Mintimer Shaimiev invited them to visit the ancient city of Bolgar and Museum of the Bulgarian civilization. The project «Cultural Heritage of Tatarstan: the ancient city of Bolgar and Svijazhsk island» and the national fund «Revival» activities to the delegation of Qatar presented the Assistant to the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Fund Executive Director Tatiana Larionova.
