Executive Director of the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA) Bronzatto Carlos became the guest of honor at the VI International Economic Summit of Russia and OIC countries (KazanSummit2014) and presented at a special session on best practices in attracting investment.
The session of institutions development with representatives of investment promotion agencies and Development Corporations of Tatarstan, the Republic of Mari El, Ulyanovsk, Kaliningrad, Altai discussed investment promotion and brand-building regions and the country as a whole, investment, advertising and information campaigns. Mr. Bronzatto, in particular, noted that the organization of a large PR-information campaign of a particular region is quite expensive.
Guest also underscored the importance of information monitoring of news flow in the country and the world, the analysis of publications of leading economic and financial publications, cooperation with the media. Carlos Bronzatto told about the intended promotion, when the information is not for a lot of people, but for a certain number of individuals, who are interested in cooperation.
«And you need to understand exactly what you want to include in your information flow, - commented Carlos Bronzatto. - This may be the analysis of the region’s strengths, its features, geographical location, the site that you can offer, clusters, priority sectors of development».
The Speaker said that one of the first in the field of investment promotion proved themselves Turkey, Brazil and Britain. Tatarstan, said Carlos Bronzatto, despite the fact that it joined to the efforts to attract investment and promoting investment opportunities of the region a few years ago, is now «working actively and rapidly catching up with international agencies».
«The more active you work on promoting, the more investors you will attract», - added Mr. Bronzatto.
Representatives of the relevant agencies of the Russian regions in the session announced its plans and already implemented platforms. Ulyanovsk, for example, spoke about the industrial site of the region and the tax preferences for investor.
Altai shared information on the implementation of investment activity standards of the Russian Federation, the regional objectives of the Agency for Investment and implementation of single window regulations. Altai representative said that the region can’t boast with the presence of large companies, but it has the experience of cooperation with international companies. He complained that region failed to provide developed infrastructure for one of the companies, who had high demands on the organization of treatment facilities. In addition, it is noted that today in the Altai region are working to create private and public industrial parks.
