Tatarstan President discusses with Uruguayan partners prospects for cooperation in the dairy industry

With representatives of leading Latin American companies operating in the dairy industry, Rustam Minnikhanov met in Uruguay.

Ms. Margot Navarro, representing the «Indulacsa company», noted that one of the main sectors of the economy of Uruguay is highly profitable agriculture and industry, focused on the processing of agricultural raw materials. Using advanced technology, high quality standards significantly improve the competitiveness of the agro-industrial complex of Uruguay on the world market.

Mr. Minnikhanov noted the importance of the human factor in the development of agro-industrial complex. He appealed to representatives of the Uruguayan agribusiness, in particular «Indulacsa» company, to cooperate actively with Tatarstan agricultural organizations to exchange experience and looking for options to work together.

«Conaprole» CEO Gaston Pessetto at a meeting with President of the Republic of Tatarstan underscored the importance of sharing technological solutions, to explore possible forms of cooperation between regions. «Conaprole», he said, appreciates the potential of the Russian market, currently the company is already the second largest supplier of butter on the territory of Russia.

Mr. Minnikhanov in response said that the Republic of Tatarstan is open for cooperation with agribusiness companies of Latin America. The head of the region expressed confidence that mutual interest of Tatarstan and Uruguay will give an opportunity to form mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of agriculture.
