The Russian Federation initiates the development of an analytical report «Russian Regions – Reform and Development»

The report, which is prepared by the Ministry of Regional Development of Russia together with the scientific and expert community, should be the terms of reference for the preparation of the Strategy of Economic Development of the Regions of the Russian Federation and to improve the quality of life of its citizens.

Importance of the work gives also the fact that in June this year in Russia adopted the Federal Law «On the strategic planning in the Russian Federation». It is expected that the report will reflect a number of important issues for the country. In particular, forecasts for economic and social development of the Russian Federation and the subjects of the country, taking into account forecasts of global and regional multi-national institutions, as well as the world's leading investment companies; the concept of long-term and medium-term development of key industries; national values and strategic interests of Russia and their localization; analysis and identification of the competitive advantages of the Russian Federation regions, the ratings of competitiveness and investment attractiveness of the regions of the country; provision of resources for the development of Russian regions.

To work on the analytical report invited scholars and experts from «The Council for the Study of Productive Forces» Centre of the economy, environmental management and sustainable development of the regional federal state budgetary research institution; Lomonosov Moscow State University; the «Center for Strategic Research» Foundation; FGBI «Central Research and Design Institute of the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of the Russian Federation», LLC «AksionBKG» (Russia), JSC «ROEL Consulting» (Russia), JSC «International Center for Regional Development» (Russia). The report will be completed before the end of 2014.
