Tree Planting Day pass in Tatarstan

Employees of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency, who took part in action in last Saturday, planted a memorial forest plantation in the Nagorniy village.

Environmental action is being holding since 2011 by the initiative of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan and in accordance with the decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan. Its purpose – not only the reproduction of forest resources of the republic, but also the education of the citizens to respect for the forest, drawing public attention to the problems of preserving green space.

According to preliminary results (the action is extended until October 20) on October 11 in the republic planted 3.5 million pieces of planting material of different assortment in an area of over 380 hectares. In the spring of during the traditional event of tree planting on April 26, took part more than 700 thousand people, planted more than 3.5 million pieces of planting materials on an area of 400 hectares. As the press service of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Tatarstan says, in 2014 the spring and autumn campaigns of the republic’s «Tree Planting Day» attended by more than 1.35 million people, planted more than 7 million planting materials.
