On December 4 representatives of the Investment Committee as part of the official delegation of St. Petersburg led by Vice-Governor Mikhail Mokretsov participated in the cultural and business mission of St. Petersburg to the Republic of Tatarstan.
During the visit to Kazan the delegation together with representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan opened the exchange of business contacts between the two regions, and also visited “IT-park" and "Himgrad" Technopolis. To the delegates presented the project "Electronic Tatarstan", a business incubator, as well as innovative enterprise for the production of high barrier plastic packaging.
The main aim of the visit to Tatarstan of the St. Petersburg Investment Committee representatives was a visit to Tatarstan Investment Development Agency. During the meeting with the leadership of the Agency discussed the effective mechanisms of interaction with the business community in the implementation of investment projects, as well as steps to improve the investment climate in the regions, which is one of the strategic objectives for the subjects of the Russian Federation. Also were discussed the specifics of the negotiation process to attract investment from APEC and the system of interaction with other countries and regions of the Russian Federation to attract investment, including the prospects for cooperation with the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies.
“St. Petersburg and the Republic of Tatarstan are among the regions of the Russian Federation with high investment potential and low investment risk. Exchange of experiences and best practices in attracting investment and creating a favorable business environment between our regions helps to strengthen their positions and alignment even more effective work in this field”, - noted at the meeting Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Taliya Minullina.
