10th International Agricultural Fair SIAM-2015

Investment potential of the Republic of Tatarstan was presented at the 10th International Agricultural Fair SIAM-2015, which took place in the city of Meknes of Kingdom of Morocco. The main theme of the event - "Agriculture and food system". The opening ceremony was attended by the Crown Prince of Morocco Moulay El Hassan. The invitation to this exhibition was referred during the meeting of the Acting President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Minister of Foreign Trade of the Kingdom of Morocco Mohamed Abbou on April 15, 2015. Tatarstan delegation, which included Tatarstan Investment Development Agency First Deputy Chief Executive Insaf Galiev and representatives of the State Unitary Enterprise "Republican Agribusiness Center of investment and innovation", presented investment potential, export opportunities and agro-industrial complex of the republic within the the all-Russian exposition. A total in five days of the exhibition it was visited by more than 817,000 people. Tatarstan delegation held meetings with representatives of the Association of Exporters, the Agency of Agriculture under the Ministry of Agriculture and Marine Fisheries of Morocco, the representatives of exhibiting companies, exhibitors and administrative regions (Greater Casablanca, Marrakech Tensift El Haouz, Meknes-Tafilalet Rabat-Sale-Zemmour-Zaer, Souss-Massa-Draa). They discussed implementation of joint projects and cooperation in the field of dairy, food and cosmetic industries, the production of pasta, cereal products, production and processing of potatoes, halal industry, oil production, cultivation and processing of vegetables, fruits and berries, juices, promotion of engineering products and equipment of Tatarstan in the African country. Also met with the Deputy Trade Representative of Russia in the Maghreb Sergey Yashun, during which they identified perspective areas of cooperation. Assistance in organizing the negotiations carried out by Russian-Arab Business Council and the Trade Representation of Russia in Morocco. Exhibitors were invited to the VII International economic summit of Russia and the OIC countries - KazanSummit 2015, which will be held in Kazan on 15-16 June 2015. For reference SIAM is the largest trade fair in the African continent, which annually attended by over 1,000 exhibitors from nearly 60 countries. The exhibition holds from 2006 under the auspices of the King of Morocco, Mohammed VI, is organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Marine Fisheries of Morocco and the International Association of Moroccan farmers.
