Acting President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov inaugurated in the special economic zone "Alabuga" a new high-tech industry - the factory "Alabuga-Volokno". The cost of the project is 3 billion rubles.
“We have waited the opening of this factory. I am sure that many of the materials that will be produced from this raw material, will be in demand in our republic, because our republic produces airplanes, helicopters, cars, engines, and of course, new constructions. The use of this material will allow to solve even the most intractable problems", - said Rustam Minnikhanov.
The new plant is one of the most high-tech enterprises of the Russian Federation and specializes in the production of carbon fiber which is used in aircraft and space industry, construction of roads and bridges, the production of consumer goods (such as bicycles). According to the announced plans by the year 2025 the company will provide about 7 percent of the global carbon fiber market. The project will increase the Russian composite manufacture by 4 times.
"High-tech investment - is a priority for Tatarstan. These investments will improve the competitiveness of our country and the republic on the world stage, making a huge contribution to the development of human capital, which fully complies with Strategy 2030", - underscored the importance of the new production Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Taliya Minullina.
The opening ceremony was also attended by "Rosatom" State Corporation Deputy CEO Alexandr Lokshin, "Composite" Holding Company” CEO Leonid Melamed, Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Deputy Insaf Galiev and others.

"Alabuga-Volokno" is a joint project of "Composite" and "Rosatom". Capacity of the first production line is 1700 tonnes of carbon fibers per year, the potential of a new line is more than 2000 tonnes.
