Tatarstan presented in the Russian regions road-show in Saudi Arabia

As part of participation in the "Road show of Russian regions", organized by the Russian-Arab Business Council, from 25 to 28 May 2015 was held a working visit of the delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where also participated Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive First Deputy Insaf Galiev. The delegation also included representatives of national government agencies: the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Transport and Road Management, Ministry of Youth and Sport, Ministry of Agriculture, the State Committee for Tourism.

TIDA work with the Arab world has been activated after an appropriate order of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov on TIDA Board on 3 February 2015.

During the visit to Jeddah were held meetings with the leadership of the Islamic Development Bank, the Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of Saudi Arabia, the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce, as well as representatives of the Arab business community.

Within the Russian Road show was organized the exposition of the Republic of Tatarstan, including a section on industry, investment potential, agriculture, sports, tourism and transport. The opening of the event, as well as the Road show was attended by Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Middle East and Africa - Russian Foreign Minister Deputy Mikhail Bogdanov, Chairman of the Russian-Arab Business Council, Chairman of the Board of Directors of AFK "Sistema" Vladimir Yevtushenkov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Saudi Arabia Oleg Ozerov, Vice president of the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce Sheikh Mazen Battardzhi, President of the "Vafrat Al-Kheir " group  Sheikh Abdul Aziz Kridis, officials of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the business community.

Along with the Republic of Tatarstan at the exhibition in the Russian delegation were presented to the Republic of Bashkortostan, Arkhangelsk region, Republic of Crimea, Moscow and some other regions.

During the business meetings and roundtables, where took an active part the delegation of Tatarstan, discussed the direction for the development of cooperation with Saudi Arabia and the implementation of joint projects. This stated the mutual interest of both sides in expanding mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields - agriculture, investment, transport industry, through humanitarian contacts. Also for Arab businessmen was held a separate presentation of the Republic of Tatarstan with the performance of the representatives of the delegation of Tatarstan in their areas.

In addition, within the past events special attention was paid to the forthcoming VII International economic summit of Russia and the OIC countries Kazansummit, which will be hold on 15-16 June 2015

As a result of the agreements the Summit will be attended by representatives of the business community in Saudi Arabia, in particular, Sheikh Abdul Aziz Kridis. Also, their participation in Kazansummit confirmed the Islamic Development Bank delegation headed by IDB President Ahmad Mohamed Ali Al Madani, where will be presented Heads of IDB departments - about 20 people.

According to the Arab side, the participation of the delegation of Saudi Arabia in Kazansummit in June 2015 is of particular importance in connection with the planned visit within the year of the King of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud to the Russian Federation.
