US investors open a plant in Tatarstan

Today Acting President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov opened on the territory of SEZ "Alabuga" Plant of the "Armstrong" Corporation for the production of suspended ceiling tiles. This is the 32th factory of the corporation in the world: today a world-known brand has manufacturing facilities in 8 countries, 132 distribution centers in Russia.

The ceremony was attended by the president of the World Industries company Matt Espe and Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Taliya Minullina.

"Today we are opening one of the most modern plants of "Armstrong", which produces world-class ceiling tiles. Previously these materials were imported to our country from abroad. Therefore this production is import substitution. At the same time it is not only for Russia but also for the countries of the CIS", - noted the leader of the republic.

The new project has unique characteristics for the region. Thus, the production capacity in Tatarstan will be more than 20 million sq. m ceiling tiles per year, this amount can meet the demand in Slovenia, Macedonia, Colombia markets together. The plant produces 3 types of mineral fiber panels, it plans to expand production.

Previously, in November 2014 was held the test operation of the production, which confirmed that the plant has a high standard of quality. Thus, a new object use ecological materials: mineral fibers, clay, water and other natural ingredients.

"As known, investment projects, which are both environmentally friendly and high-tech are priority for Tatarstan. The launch of this production contributes not only to social and economic development of the republic, but also to the management, conservation of natural resources, which form the basis of life of future generations of Tatarstan", - underscored TIDA Chief Executive Taliya Minullina.
