New Silk Road to pass through Tatarstan

Representatives of business circles of China arrived in Tatarstan to review the opportunities of implementation of the "Silk Road" economic zone concept, as well as Tatarstan market research.

About this said the delegation of representatives of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (XUAR) of China at a meeting with Acting President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, which took place on June 17 in the House of Government of Tatarstan. The meeting was attended by Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Taliya Minullina (the Agency organized this visit). The delegation includes the Head of the Department of Commerce of XUAR Xia Guangtao and Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce of Hebei, Hebei Association of Entrepreneurs President Gao Dzhigan, representatives of companies specialized in the field of agriculture, logistics, production of fertilizers, mining, aviation.

"Silk Road" Economic Zone - an integration project initiated by China and aimed at "deepening cooperation between China, Central Asia and Russia". Earlier, on May 8 the leaders of Russia and China Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping signed a declaration on cooperation in the construction of the Eurasian Economic Union and "Silk Road" Economic Zone.

The distinguished guests from China underscored that Xinjiang plays an important role in the new integration project, which initiated China. It is on the territory of the Autonomous Region plans to build the Center for assembly and distribution of goods. Within the cooperation it is important to create transport corridors, said the Head of the Department of Commerce of XUAR Xia Guangtao.

The visit is organized by Tatarstan Investment Development Agency. Revitalization with business from Asia and China in particular, is carried out on behalf of the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. Within the visit the representatives of XUAR held a series of meetings, including with the leadership of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Ministry of Transport and Roads of the Republic of Tatarstan and the State Unitary Enterprise "Racin”.

Guests will also visit the objects of investment infrastructure of the republic: the industrial park "Chelny" (will be the presentation of the industrial park project with transport and logistics center), KIP "Master" (scheduled to visit the Haier plant under construction). In addition, the delegation will visit the plant "Kama Sapropel" for the production of environmentally friendly fertilizers, inspection of farms and arable land for agriculture.
