At the same time the issue of a new level of economic and investment relations remains actual.
According to Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia Stanislav Voskresensky, the most perspective areas of cooperation between Russia and Japan are such areas as agriculture, logistics, transport, information technology.

As the representatives of the Japanese business community note, "there is a shift of Russia's interest in our direction, and we strongly support the development of relations". Particularly actual is the issue of training for industrial production, the creation of a visa-free regime and the easing of restrictions of access to the labor market. Solving these issues will help to move the economic relations to a qualitatively new level, said a member of the delegation of Japan.
Currently, a number of large joint projects are being implemented, said the Chairman of the Board of JSC "RusGidro" Evgeny Dod. In particular, the construction of gas-turbine facilities, plants in Primorye and 15 thermal power generation facilities, also the alternative sources of energy in isolated areas of Khabarovsk and Kamchatka are of particular interest.
"Russian-Japanese economic cooperation has a huge potential. The big role here play the regions of the Russian Federation.
