Within the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum Acting President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov met with the Managing Director of the Japanese Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) Tadashi Maeda. The meeting was attended by TIDA Chief Executive Taliya Minullina.
The Head of the financial institution said: "Japan, as a member of the "Big Seven", supports the main directions in terms of specific criticism of Russia's actions. But the business intends to develop relations with Russia".
The leader of the republic, in turn, noted that Tatarstan is open to investment from Japan, as well as cooperation on a wide range of issues within the Russian-Japanese relations. Tatarstan Investment Development Agency works in the field of promotion of Tatarstan investment potential. Meeting with Tatarstan delegation with the Head of the Bank was organized by the support of Investment and Venture Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The Chairman of the organizing committee of the forum, the head of the Government of Russia Sergei Prikhodko at the opening ceremony said that now need to direct efforts "to find understanding, a return to an atmosphere of trust between the key actors of the world economy".
