On June 19 within the St. Petersburg Economic Forum was held a meeting of the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia (AIRR), chaired by the Speaker of Russia's State Duma, the Chairman of the AIRR Supervisory Board Sergei Naryshkin.
Speaking to the representatives of the innovative regions, Acting President of the Republic of Tatarstan, member of the AIRR Board Rustam Minnikhanov said: "Territories of the Association have a great influence on the development of the country. In particular, the regions of the Russian Federation, members of the association, have a one third of the volume of total exports of innovative products of the country, a quarter of the cost of technological innovation".
The event was attended by Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Taliya Minullina.

The signing of a memorandum on the establishment of an interregional "Association of innovative regions of Russia" was held on 21 May 2010 in Tomsk within the XIII Innovation Forum «Innovus». Association includes the Republic of Tatarstan, the Republic of Mordovia, Tomsk region, Irkutsk Region, the Kaluga Region, the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Perm Territory, Novosibirsk Region.
The Association's goal – is to promote the effective development of innovative regions-participants, built on the recognition of the existing different models of scientific and technological growth of regions.
