Today in the Government House of Tatarstan met the Acting President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) CEO Graziano da Silva, the event was attended by Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Taliya Minullina.
Rustam Minnikhanov and Graziano da Silva discussed topical issues of cooperation between Tatarstan and FAO.
At the end of the meeting signed an agreement of intent between the Kazan Agricultural University and FAO.
Tatarstan has a leading position in the agricultural sector of the country. Republic, using 2.2% of agricultural land in Russia, produces about 5% of agricultural production in Russia.
Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), in turn, acts as the lead agency involved in the development of rural areas and agriculture in the UN system. The motto of the organization, "helping to build a world without hunger".
