Kazan to hold the WorldSkills 2019 world championship

This was announced by a vote held on 10 August at the General Assembly of non-profit organization WorldSkills International 2015 in Sao Paulo (Brazil).For the right to host the 45th championship of professional skills World Skills 2019 Kazan competed with the capital of France - Paris and Belgian city Charleroi.Application of our country was represented by Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Olga Golodets, Acting President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Head of WorldSkills Russia Pavel Chernykh, "Rosatom" State Corporation CEO Sergey Kiriyenko and others.Russian team at the General Assembly also included the heads of enterprises, educational institutions, ministries and departments of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tatarstan, including Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Taliya Minullina.Presentation of Kazan has caused the greatest response among members of the jury and in a tense struggle after two rounds of voting capital of Tatarstan has won. Kazan was chosen by 31 delegates from 57 voting countries.WorldSkills Competitions is of great importance for the development of the level of professional skills of young cadres, especially the representatives of working professions, and improves the competitiveness of the republic in the world economy, including in the personnel aspect.For referenceWorldSkills - is an international non-profit movement created in 1946. The Association's goal - to increase the prestige of working professions and develop of vocational education through professional skills contests.WorldSkills Championships are held every two years in different countries and is an important event in improving training and skills, fully reflecting all areas of industry.In 2014 and 2015 in Kazan on the territory of "Kazan Fair" exhibition center were successfully held II and III national championships WorldSkills Russia. The last Russian WorldSkills Championship, passed on 19-23 May this year in Kazan, was attended by 519 contestants from all regions of Russia in the 57 competencies (42 tender and 15 presentations), 613 experts and 100 juniors from 16 regions in the competition for the 10 competencies.
The annual forum "Strong Ideas for a New Age" will be held on July 22-23, 2026 in Nizhny Novgorod. The Forum is aimed at supporting and implementing citizens' initiatives for the development of the country. The event is being held by Decree of the President of the Russian Federation in cooperation with the Roscongress Foundation.
