Today Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Taliya Minullina in Moscow met with the Minister of absorption (integration of new citizens in the Jewish community) and for Jerusalem and diaspora affairs of Israel Zeev Elkin.
During the meeting the new possibilities of cooperation between Tatarstan and Israel in terms of the creation of a free trade zone between Israel and the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) was discussed.
Zeev Elkin, who is Co-chair of the Russian-Israeli intergovernmental commission, during his visit to Moscow, said that Israel plans to launch a free trade zone with the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU): corresponding negotiations will start in early 2016. The decision to bigin negotiations was made at EEU summit on October 16 in the Burabai (Kazakhstan).
In the morning the minister met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation (on foreign affairs) Yuri Ushakov.
Zeev Elkin at the end of the meeting with Taliya Minullina said that Tatarstan is able to prepare young qualified personnel, and this experience will be used in Israel.
"Tatarstan will expand all-round cooperation with Israel in the framework of Russian-Israeli relations. In the case of signing the agreement of the Eurasian Economic Union on free trade zone economic cooperation of Tatarstan and Israel will reach a new level", - said TIDA Chief Executive.
This morning Taliya Minullina presented investment potential of Tatarstan on the "Forum of Business Initiatives: ISRAEL-RUSSIA 2015", which takes place in the Russian capital.
