Engineering centers in response to challenges of today’s world

Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Taliya Minullina participated in the session of the economic council under Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers. The session was dedicated to the development of republic infrastructure facilitating integration of scientific solutions into industrial production, commercialization of technologies and knowledge.

There were reports on activities of scientific-technical and innovative development, interaction between universities and innovative infrastructure of business support and republic enterprises, cooperation between business and engineering centers, their importance in technological modernization of Tatarstan industrial enterprises after opening statement of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.

Procedure of interaction between universities and engineering centers, their attraction to business-planning, audit, consulting and technological foresight are seen as the main phases of development of mutual relation between government, business and science. Participation of sectoral ministries in application process on financing from the federal budget and development institutions is essential. Much depends on building up the patent base of universities and enterprises. The State plays an important role in creating of engineering centers: since 2007 more than 20 centers at universities, 12 in clusters and 25 regional centers were established with the Government support.

“Russian program of creation and development of regional engineering centers will continue in 2016, in spite of cutting financing to almost 50 per cent. Tatarstan began to solve the problem of our country – bond of science and enterprises. Creation of such platforms is a response to modern world challenges, opportunity for cooperation and establishment of industrial bases for import substitution” – believes Taliya Minullina.
