Today, a meeting with State Secretary of Ministry of Economy of North Rhine-Westphalia Gunther Horzetzky took place at Tatarstan Government House. Tatarstan Prime Minister Mr. Ildar Khalikov and the Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Ms. Taliya Minullina participated in the event.
The aim of the visit was to provide the companies from North Rhine-Westphalia with the opportunity to establish new business contacts and to get Tatarstan's market review.
During the meeting the parties discussed the perspectives and mechanisms of mutually advantageous cooperation, including the sphere of investment. Economic capacity and platforms of the region, priority areas for Tatarstan development and success stories of foreign companies which develop business on the territory of the Republic were presented to guests. It was mentioned during the meeting that devaluation of the rouble have lead to reduction of cost of production in Russia compared with Europe and some Asian countries which makes the localization of German enterprises on the territory of Tatarstan more profitable.

"This year, the delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan made an unprecedented number of visits in Germany. 4 in total and 2 are schedualed for October. We are glad that our relationships with Germany are developing rapidly, currently there are great opportunities for cooperation between our regions" - the Head of investment Development Agency said.
Thanking for hospitality, Gunther Horzetzky noted that despite all the political difficulties, North Rhine-Westphalia
"The representatives of large companies who are interested in the development of partnership with Tatarstan are in our delegation. The leadership of the Republic always differed by its specific approach to the work with foreign investors. We appreciate it and going to strengthen our trade-economic ties" - the State Secretary added.

It is worth mentioning that Tatarstan and Germany bring together a number of cooperation protocols, paper on interaction between business entities and inter-universities agreements. In the sphere of education, there is cooperation between KNRTU-KAI named after A.N.Tupolev and Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits. With the participation of Dresden University of Technology, cooperative projects in the sphere of forestry are realized in Tatarstan, contacts are maintained with other companies and organizations.
Such leading German companies as "Siemens" (communications, energy, equipment leasing): "BASF" (chemical products); "Bosch" (mechanical engineering); "KraussMaffei" (petrochemistry); "Linde" (chemistry); "Knorr-Bremse" (KAMAZ accessories); "Zahnradfabrik" (KAMAZ transmission); "Voith" (automatic transmission); "SARIA Bio-Industries" (processing of raw materials of animal origin) are working successfully in Tatarstan. In addition, such German trading networks as "Metro", "Media Markt", "Selgros" and "Wurth" are very popular among citizens of the Republic. A number of companies and banks of Tatarstan have ties with "Dresdner Bank", "Deutsche Bank", "Commerzbank".
It should be mentioned that this year regular direct flight between Moscow and Frankfurt am Main was opened. This event has opened new opportunities for Russia-German cooperation.
