Issues of development of public-private partnership (PPP) in the region were discussed in the meeting, which was held in the eve in Tatarstan Investment Development Agency.
The meeting, chaired by Linar Yakupov, was attended by Russia State Duma deputy Radik Ilyasov, Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan on economy, investment and entrepreneurship Marat Galeev, Deputy Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan on budget, taxes and finance Aida Sharipov, Chief of the special projects division of the Tatarstan Presidential Office Ramil Shamsutdinov, First Deputy Minister of Land and Property Relations Sergey Demidov, Federal Antimonopoly Service of the Republic of Tatarstan Deputy Head Danir Mukhametzyanov. The discussion was also attended by State Unitary Enterprise «Tatarstan Agency for the state order» CEO Jacov Heller, Head of «Investment Center" Green vale» Renat Saifullin, Deputy Chairman of the construction companies group «VIS» Board of Directors Rashid Aytuganov, Managing partner of «RISE Capital» Alexander Dimov and Dmitry Chikishev.
Focusing on the issues proposed for discussion, at the meeting Linar Yakupov said that currently the State Duma of the Russian Federation is considering a bill «On the basis of public-private partnership in the Russian Federation». Despite the fact that the second reading of the Bill postponed indefinitely, its developers hope that it will be adopted in the current year.
Meeting with the Director of PGB Group Pier Giorgio Bassi was held on the eve in the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Tatarstan in the Russian Federation.
In discussing of further cooperation between Italy and Tatarstan participated Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister - Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Tatarstan in the Russian Federation Ravil Akhmetshin, Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Linar Yakupov, representatives of the Situational Information and Analytical center Sergey Parkhomenko and Alexei Panteleyev and a number of Italian companies.

January 27 in Prague held the first 2014 year event of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency on priority areas of the region.
Tatarstan delegation led by Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Linar Yakupov at the seminar presented investment opportunities of the region, Kazan Smart City and Innopolis projects. Participants, among which Czech companies working in energy sector, construction and design, engineering and automotive components, consulting, banking and financial services, medicine and pharmaceuticals, services and tourism, acquainted with the stages of projects’ implementation and their development.
Welcoming the participants, Trade and Economic Representative of the Republic of Tatarstan in the Czech Republic Zoufar Abdulgaleev, underscored the importance of the meeting. About the development of Tatarstan-Czech and Czech-Russian economic relations told Head of Foreign Affairs Department in Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic Irji Mashata. He also noted the importance of institutional support for business and told about the cooperation of the Czech representatives with colleagues from Tatarstan. Irji Mashata noted that Tatarstan, compared with other Russian regions, is more business oriented and spends considerable work to improve the business climate. Russia was named as one of the most important partners in the development of an export strategy of the Czech Republic. Concluding his speech, Mr. Mashata invoked the Czech entrepreneurs to go to the Russian regions.

In 2014 first investment seminar ofTatarstan Investment Development Agency will be held in January 27 in the Czech Republic. The event is organized jointly with the Trade and Economic Representative of Tatarstan in the Czech Republic. It will be attended by Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Linar Yakupov and Tatarstan Development Corporation Investor Relations Consultant Paul Hruska.
Tatarstan Investment Development Agency takes part in the working meeting of the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA)Steering Committee as WAIPA Regional Director for Eastern Europe.
WAIPA Steering Committee – is an executive body of the WAIPA General Assembly, whose task is to plan and implement the development strategy of the organization. During the meeting of the committee which holds from 23 to 24 January 2014 in the legislative capital of South Africa – Cape Town, regional representatives will discuss the results of the association in 2013, as well as a strategy on WAIPA promoting in foreign conferences and events, scheduled for 2014. Also will be discussed the prospects of WAIPA until 2015.
During the two-day trip to the region representatives of Lithuanian companies will get acquainted with the experience of Tatarstan in investment development, providing interaction between government and business and using of territory’s export potential.
The delegation includes the representatives of the largest in northern Europe combined transport and logistics company DFDS, concern ACHEMA GROUP, combining logistics, trade, energy, healthcare and financial services enterprises, JSC «Kroviniu Terminal» – one of the newest and most modern terminals in the Baltic region on petroleum and chemical products keeping.
Sphere of logistics and transportation are also presented by JSC «Baltijos pervezhimay» – one of the leaders in the field of ship agency and forwarding services of goods, «Lithuanian Railways», «Klaipėda Passenger and Cargo Terminal» and «Klaipeda seaport». In the period from January 20-22, 2014 in the «ADNEC» Abu Dhabi International Exhibition Centre holds «World Future Energy Summit 2014» (WFES).
The event is dedicated to the critical energy issues of the future, energy-saving technologies and the importance of developing, implementing renewable energy sources and their rational use. In an interview to Russia 24 during the Gaidar Forum in Moscow, the head of the region told about the work of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency in investment promotion. Here are the excerpts from the interview.
- Mr. Minnikhanov, your region, Tatarstan, is considered to be a leading region on attracting investment and generally one of the developed regions of our country. What proportion of Tatarstan’s economy hold investments and generally, in what industry come investors?
- If we talk about numbers, more than 530 billion rubles invested in fixed assets. Of course, there were many investment related to the World Student Games. This is sports facilities and transport infrastructure. And of course, oil refining, petrochemicals, engineering industry and agriculture.

Delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan in Gaidar Forum is headed by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. The delegation consists of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Chief Executive Linar Yakupov, Minister of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan Midhat Shagiakhmetov, SEZ «Innopolis» CEO and representatives of the region’s business community.
Rustam Minnikhanov today took part in the plenary session – «Doing business in Russia 2.0», moderated by Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Sergey Naryshkin. At the discussion the participants discussed the doing business rating, compiled by the World Bank.

At the meeting, which was held in Tatarstan Investment Development Agency (TIDA)was presented the investment technopolis project and cluster development of its territory. Also were defined key objects of special economic zone «Innopolis».
During the discussions presented the investment potential of the region, available industrial sites and special economic zones. TIDA Head of investment promotion Wyatt Ford presented the possibility of Tatarstan in the logistics sector, noting the proximity of the capital of Tatarstan to the International airport «Kazan» and a favorable geographical position of the region.
